Tight Lines to end after 20 year run

Tight Lines – the TV show hosted by Keith Arthur – is to end after its current series. Aired on Sky Sports, it’s become a must-watch for fisherman all over the UK and has run for 20 years.

The hour-long programme has been anchored by Richmond-based Keith since he took over from original presenter, Bruno Brookes, and leaves the sport without a regular dedicated fishing show in the TV schedule.

Sky is thought to be looking at cutting costs, with production on Tight Lines deemed too expensive to justify. The last show will go out on Friday July 17th, 2015.

Although I have never gone out fishing myself, Tight Lines is always something I would be drawn to watching all because of one man, Keith Arthur.

Keith Arthur is a legend to fishing and ever since his time ended at talkSPORT with Fishermans Blues, talkSPORT has never been the same and Keith Arthur has been a big loss to the station.

Although Sky Sports may have to work to a budget, there are many other programmes on Sky Sports that have now gone past their sell by date like Soccer A.M.

Losing Tight Lines will be a big mistake because if it wasn't a success, Sky Sports would not have been broadcasting the programme for the last 20 years.

Losing Keith Arthur will be an even bigger loss to sky Sports so whoever is in charge of the budget and making all these decisions, either do your job properly or hand over the reigns to somebody else!

Too much money is going to waste on Sky Sports on programmes that are no longer needed. As for Tight Lines and presenter Keith Arthur, it was money well spent!

Big loss and big mistake by Sky Sports!
