 | Lee Hughes has received one of the first Angling Trust Volunteers’ Awards this week. Following nominations for the award, an Angling Trust committee chose Lee for his outstanding contribution to the Voluntary Bailiff Service. |
Lee has shown a strong commitment to the VBS from the start, where he has excelled at organising other volunteers and patols, encouraged participation across organisations and agencies and has been a stalwart contributor at fishery enforcement events. He has also played a key role in enabling communication between other volunteer bailiffs which has helped co-ordinate action and brought the team together.
Kevin Pearson, Regional Enforcement Manager for the Midlands said “Lee is a full-time security officer and a family man with commitments, yet he always finds time to support the work of Angling Trust in many other ways, such as organising family fishing days and coaching youngsters through his local angling club, in which he is the head bailiff and a committee member. I consider Lee to be a reliable and dedicated volunteer and taking all of these assets into account I consider Lee to be a worthy candidate for this award and I commend this nomination”.
