The Dudley No.1 Canal
The Dudley No 1 Canal runs from Tipton Junction, Tipton on the Old Birmingham Mainline Canal, a short way where it enters the grounds of the Black Country Living Museum and Dudley Tunnel, there is no towpath through the tunnels. The canal comes out again near Dudley Southern by Pass, next to Holly hall Road.
A few meters along and it reaches Park Head Locks and viaduct, a few basins and then Park Head Junction where the Dudley No 2 Canal joins the No 1. The canal then continues alongside Pear Tree Lane, Dudley and eventually passes the Merry Hill Shopping centre passing through The Waterfront, Brierley Hill, A short way along and the canal passes down a staircase of locks, The Delph Locks, knows also as the Nine Locks.
The Dudley No 1 then turns back on itself, leaves the towpath and a short while later at Leys Junction near the Fens Pools, then canal meets the Stourbridge Canal.
