Description:

The golf course and rabbit warren swims, pegs 146 to 205, are just part of a much longer length here under the jurisdiction of Bridgnorth AS. This is prime barbel water with fish to 12 lb and many in the 6 to 8lb bracket. There's also a good head of chub to 5 lb or more, a few perch to 3lb 8oz, roach to 1lb 8oz and dace to 12 oz. There is also the possibility of the odd stray carp and there are winter pike here to 20 lb.

Tactics:

A renowned early season starter, on the 'tip. Load a feeder with caster and hemp and fish white or red maggot on the hook. Halibut pellet will also catch early season fish but it comes into its own more after a fortnight or so; use very small halibuts in the feeder and 8, 10 or 12 mm halibuts on the hook- even 6 mm are worth trying at times. Barbel and chub can also be taken on the waggler, in the right swim.

Good Swims:

The faster the flow, the better for early season barbel and chub.
