dudley no.2 canal {Powke Lane - Warrens Hall}

Bull Fisheries
Powke Lane
Cradley Heath
West Midlands
B64 5PT

Description:

The carp go well into the 15's here, not far short of 20 lb in fact. Also present are tench to 5 lb, chub and  bream to 4 lb, perch topping 2 lb, roach to a tad over 1 lb, skimmers and the odd winter pike.

Tactics:

Seek out any visible far bank feature and try float fishing a chunk of bread crust for the carp. Alternatively the odd carp can show to paste or pellet fished close in or again to any feature. Odd chub, bream, tench, decent perch and skimmers to float fished  chopped worm and caster. Corn, an underrated bait here, often produces decent sized roach. Roach and skimmers to float fished caster, seed baits or maggot.

Good Swims:

The features are an obvious magnet for the carp.
