Top Pool - This is the first pool you come to from the main car park, with 18 pegs.
Stocked with an exciting mix of fish including Common, Mirror, Ghost and Leather Carp up to 10lbs, as well as good sized Tench, Bream, Perch, Roach, Rudd, and Chubb. You never quite know what you are going to catch in this pool! The pool is approximately 0.35 acres in size and has a maximum depth of 8 feet. It is surrounded by a shelf which runs about four feet out from the bank, being three feet deep, with the shallower parts of the pool at the entrance end. It has a picturesque central island as the main feature to fish to. |
Middle Pool - This is a delightful pool and the smallest at the fishery and is classed as probably the easiest of the Chorley Springs waters to fish. All 13 pegs are visible from any point at the pool, making it a great pool for families and newcomers to the sport. This pool was restocked in 2021 with Bream, Tench and Crucian Carp, thus offering a different fishing experience to the other pools, and a perfect place for families to fish and spend time together in a beautiful setting. The pool is approximately 0.15 acres in size and has a maximum depth of 8 feet. Having a bowl shaped bottom, much of Middle Pool is between three and four feet deep around the edges before the bottom slopes gradually to a maximum of eight feet in the centre.
|
Bottom Pool - Stocked again with a varied mix of fish including Common, Mirror, Ghost and Leather Carp up to 12lbs, as well as good sized Tench, Bream, Perch, Crucian Carp, Roach, Rudd, and Chub. The pool is approximately 0.37 acres in size and has 17 pegs. A shelf runs about three feet deep up to four feet out from the banks which then drop to about five feet before shelving gently towards the centre of the pool, to a maximum depth of 14 feet, making it the deepest pool at the fishery.
|
Specimen Pool - Reached by driving along the entrance track and through the first field car park, the tree-lined Specimen Pool is completely different in character from the three smaller coarse pools. It is much larger and having a more irregular shape, two beautiful islands with magnificent Weeping Willow trees and plenty of features and bankside cover. Stocked with Mirror Carp up to 30lbs, Common Carp up to 20lbs together with a large head of double figure Carp.
The pool is approximately 1 acre in size and is the largest at the fishery. It has 9 well-spaced pegs and a maximum depth of 9ft. It has an undulating bottom and there is a sandbar which runs out from the far island towards the far bank. Here the water shallows to about three feet. |
Match (Runs) Pool - Reached by driving along the entrance track and through the first field car park, and then past the Specimen Pool, the Runs Pool is again very different in character from the three smaller coarse pools. It is much larger than the Top, Middle and Bottom Pools, and having two beautiful islands with magnificent Weeping Willow trees and plenty of features and bankside cover.
Stocked with Mirror and Common Carp up to 10lbs, together with good sized Tench, Bream, Roach, Rudd, and Perch. Line strengths of 10lbs and over are recommended and all anglers must have a decent sized landing net and suitable unhooking mat. The pool was further restocked in 2021 with over 1000lb Carp added. As well as Pleasure Fishing, the pool is now available as a Match venue, for exclusive hire or for booking on a peg basis, either by clubs or individuals. |
The pool is approximately 0.64 acres in size. It has 23 well-spaced pegs and a maximum depth of 8ft. It has an undulating bottom varying the depth around the pool. Overhead lines pass over an area of the pool and anglers should be aware of this when fishing.
