Tactics:
Method feeder is one of the best tactics on Horseshoe Lake, casting to the island at20-30 metres into 2 ft. Dampened pellets are the best feed, with banded hard pellet on the hook. Keep casts going in tight to the reeds and loose feed 8mm pellets over the top. If fish swirl, swap to a pellet waggler. When it’s colder, bomb and maggot is still picking up fish, including barbel. Fishing pole and paste in the margins or 6m out brings the biggest carp, with fish to mid-doubles possible. |
Arrow Lake has ten pegs, fishing from one bank only, for qualitycarp and tench. Cast to the far bank at 25 m with a single boilie and a stick mix. Wafters are working well, with a few chopped boilies in the stick mix. Pole at 13m with loosefed maggots for chub and ide on Canal Pool, or 4mm expander pellets for carp. Catapulted loose feed will bring the fish shallow, feed through a cup to keep them down.
