Tactics:.
For the big carp, leger an approximate one-inch ragged square chunk of meat, sweetcorn or large hook pellets, over a base of trout pellet feed, in the margins. Alternatively leger the same baits mentioned over a small PVA bag of smaller, free offerings into the open water or close to the islands. Floating bread crust is only allowed when the wildlife is absent, please ask about this tactic before you try it. Good Swims: The margins can score very well here, so can the open water and near the islands. Be prepared for all three is the message! |

How to get there....
Astwood Fishery is a few minutes drive through country lanes from Junction 5 of the M5 Motorway. After leaving the M5 take the road off the roundabout signed for Stoke Works and the first left where you will see the brown tourist sign for Astwood Fishery. Follow this road past the big church on the left, under the railway bridge and past the Bowling Green Inn on the right. Take the next right signed Hanbury B4091 into Astwood Lane, over the canal and take the right hand fork at the grass triangle. Follow this road for two-tenths of a mile and the entrance to the fishery is on the left.
