One business owner whose premises were only slightly damaged told us of her relief.
She said: "Luckily the fire brigade were absolutely fantastic they got a water wall going to keep our business damped down so it was amazing.
"The noise from the fire, roofs collapsing and everything were pretty scary at the time… just watching it unfold as the building disintegrated.
"Driving up the road you just aw this huge ball of fire Huge ball of red and orange it was so frightening and obviously there was smoke as well.
"The flames were very very high when we arrived."
Bal Dhadwal who owns Club 2000 Fishing Tackle Warehouse is currently unable to get into his premises.
Bal's passport is trapped inside a filing cabinet in the shop and he needs it to fly to India in two weeks time to scatter his father's ashes.
He said he's 'completely devastated' - not only to lose years of hard work, but also potentially to miss being able to lay his father to rest if his passport is burnt.
